Vigil for SJPD CSO Long Pham, 8.22, 7:30pm

In honor of CSO Long Pham's life and service, the office of Councilmember Bien Doan will be holding a candlelight vigil on Thursday, August 22, at 7:30 PM at the Vietnamese Heritage Garden, located at 1499 Roberts Ave, San Jose, CA 95112. Below, comments from Doan.

Dear Neighbor,

On August 3, 2024, while performing traffic control duties at Monterey Road and Palm Avenue, SJPD Community Service Officer Long Pham was struck by a suspected DUI driver and killed. His courage and dedication to serving our community will never be forgotten.

This vigil is an opportunity for us to come together as a community to pay tribute to a true hero and to stand in solidarity against the dangers of impaired driving.

We invite you to join us at this solemn event to honor the memory of CSO Long Pham, support his family, and reflect on the sacrifices made by our first responders every day.

We will have candles for attendees at the event, but we encourage you to bring your own if you choose.
