Poetry for the season

AI-driven art using Midjourney with prompts by P. Verbica

Almaden-Quicksilver. Alum Rock Park. Santa Teresa.  Alviso Marina. We sometimes forget how the day dreams along with us when we get away from the expressways, the squatty office towers, the torrent of social media. Peter Coe Verbica explores how connectedness can ensue.

Let us leave behind our small selves. April crowns us with bigger hats. Fields livelier horses, taller grass, brighter flowers.

Enjoy biting into an orange from your pack. It’s full of sugar. (The hills smell of sage, campfire rings, and dampened dirt.)

Newness sparkles each dewdrop, creates a face in a cloud, illuminates a hummingbird, animates a river.

Owls, heavy lidded, sleep off the day. Livestock and wildlife gather at watering holes to greet their reflections.

Radiance, ever-present, warms our shirtsleeves, our cheekbones, our friendships, our faithfulness.

And, if we quiet our inner voice, we may notice the day dreaming. See that each trail connects us to one another.  In(di)visible.
