☆ Council candidate: Volunteer, support campaigns, run to protect local liberties

Alexander Kent ran for San Carlos City Council (7.2% of votes) to “offer an independent / devil’s advocate voice” free of purchased loyalties and mindless one-sided dogma. Post-election, Kent shares what he’s learned about how individuals defend a culture of responsibility at the local level. An Opp Now exclusive.

Freedom isn’t free. Our Representative Republic won’t last without more individual participation, researching issues, contributing to the debate. Our communities need more people to volunteer and to contribute to political candidates that you support.

And yes, at the right moment, apply for appointed commissions like planning, run for public office like school board, and then city council and beyond.

Our communities need more people to volunteer for charitable causes like PTA fundraisers and then become a PTA president. Join the Rotary Club and earn an appointment to the Board of Directors.

Individual rights require a deep culture of individual responsibility.
